Bi Gossip: January 2025 – Bi Community News

We mostly cover the “big stuff” in BCN – like bi events, changes to law that particularly affect bi people, new research and so forth.

But a lot of bi news is not “real news” but gossip or social media comments from people in the public eye. Those don’t change laws but they do, albeit not as often as we might like, change hearts and minds. Or give us public statements we can really relate to and that help educate others.

Lady Gaga talked to Elle magazine about how her film Harlequin tanked in cinemas. “I think to be an artist, you have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it. And you keep going even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended,” she tells them, before discussing her new album.

The toughest story of the month here is the death of Aubrey Plaza‘s husband Jeff Baena, reported by for example the BBC here. They married in 2021, but they knew one another from her role in his zombie film Life After Beth in which she starred ten years ago.

Bisexual One Tree Hill actor Sophia Bush has divorced Grant Hughes reports TMZ. This frees her up to perhaps marry new beau Ashlyn Harris in 2025 – perhaps!

The Singapore Stomp reported parent of a bisexual daughter Gurmit Singh talking about Gabbi Wenyi Ayane‘s openness about her bisexuality. “it was difficult at first because she’s in the queer community,” he says, “at the end of the day, she is still my daughter. Till the day I die, I will still love her.” He reflects on how he was a challenge for his own parents too: “when I made a decision to become an actor, my parents had high hopes for me to become, you know, a lawyer, a judge or whatever, policeman and then I became this comedian, an actor.” May all our parents be at least as clueful.

XO, Kitty actor Anna Cathcart talked to Inquirer.net about playing a bisexual character in the show. “I’m really proud that she embraces her bisexuality in such an amazing way,” Cathcart tells them. “She was really [naturally] overwhelmed by it in season one. And now in season two, we see her step into that part of herself and embrace it with love.”

Finally the high-brow stuff: the Daily Mail spotted Maren Morris wearing a bikini. Bisexuals can wear clothes, hold the front page.
